Labor Day Weekend Stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Carpinteria, California
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: We did not plan our Carpinteria stay ahead of time and had to call hotels in the vicinity just a week in advance. This is no easy feat right before Labor Day. This weekend must be one of the most popular times of the year in this coastal region. Everything gets completely booked. When searching online, there were no available rooms. Ventura and Santa Barbara were the closest places with some vacancies. We called and called every day ... and ... Two days before the weekend we landed a room at the Holiday Inn Express in Carpinteria. Their booking web site showed no vacancies but we were persistent in calling and it paid off. The price we paid was probably ten to twenty percent more than if we had booked on time but we just had to live with it. We checked in on the Saturday evening before Labor Day.

Rate and Review : Labor Day Weekend Stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Carpinteria, California

La Olla - Oaxaca Restaurant Review
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: Sit down in most small restaurants in Oaxaca, order the comida corrida (full meal, daily special) and as fast as the Flying Burrito Brothers your server arrives with a bowl of tepid soup with miniscule floating grease bubbles, a healthy portion of fried-in-oil-then-boiled white rice flecked with cubed carrot, a small piece of overcooked meat or poultry swimming in a scrumptiously tangy mole, a glass of fruity water-of-the-day (agua del dÃa), and a two-inch slab of flan to finish Â... on the other hand thereÂ's La Olla.

Rate and Review : La Olla - Oaxaca Restaurant Review

The colony had been established to provide a provisioning point for the eastward bound ships of the Dutch East India Company and Simon van der Stel felt that wine would make a welcome addition to the supplies he was charged to supply. Expeditions were sent out to the mountain slopes and valleys inland and one night after camping in the bush along the Eerste River (First River) he announced that he would have a town built there. The town was duly established and named after his nights camp in the bush - Stellenbosch.

Rate and Review : Reasons to visit Stellenbosch in South Africa
Quick Lunch Stop at Sushi Boy on Hawthorne Blvd in Torrance, CA
SeeTheGlobe.com Travel Article :: Ever since we first noticed the first Sushi Boy store opening in our neighborhood we were curious to visit it and try their sushi goodies. The outside appearance of the restaurant was attractive and more pleasing than most standard small food franchise shops. They have blended Japanese design elements into a modern looking boxy structure. The official web site states that there are now twelve Sushi Boys in Southern California and about half are in the South Bay (Los Angeles). This past week we finally ate lunch at their Torrance location. Parking was freely available behind the restaurant.

Rate and Review : Quick Lunch Stop at Sushi Boy on Hawthorne Blvd in Torrance, CA
